  • The Bitcoin Baby, Izabella Bowles, was born in 2019 and had a Bitcoin donation address set up by her father
  • The public was asked to donate to her college fund, with the story making headlines
  • What was once worth just $3,800 is now worth a considerable amount more

The recent story of the Blockchain Baby has brought back to memory a story from some years ago about the Bitcoin Baby, a baby whose father established a Bitcoin donation address for her college fund. As of 2021, this fund reached $76,000 in value, so its time to check in and see how the fund is doing as she turns six and a half.

Bitcoin Baby is Born

Englishman Peter Bowles made headlines on January 6, 2019 when he announced the birth of Izabella in The Times newspaper along with a Bitcoin address representing a Bitcoin college fund. The idea, Bowles stated, was to solicit donations for Izabella, which would, by her 18th birthday, hopefully be enough to send her to university.

At the time of Izabellas birth, the initial raft of donations totalled some $3,800, but Bitcoins incredible run since then, plus the addition of further donations, saw it rocket. At the peak of the 2021 bull run, her college fund was worth around $76,000, enough to cover a three-year course at most universities after just two years.

College Fund Now Tops $100,000

Bowles collected 1.1 BTC from the donations, which he moved through various wallets just a few weeks after Izabellas birth, a haul that is now worth $115,000, allowing her to attend even a top-ranking university with room to spare.

Given that Izabella still has 11.5 years until she will set foot in a university, there is every chance that she may be a millionaire by the time she starts with the other freshers. Presumably, the drinks would be on her.
