The campaign comes as the rapper dishes out 'Alfredo 2' with The Alchemist.
With a career extending over a decade, Freddie Gibbs may know a thing or two about “longevity,” and in a sleek new campaign with Mitchell & Ness, he explains how that consistency empowers his legacy. Fully styled in a tracksuit from the brand, the Gary, IN, rapper speaks to his career, how the sportswear company has maintained relevance in Hip-Hop, and dishes out advice to rising creatives.
“You got the longevity, you got the drive, I think that’s the thing that makes legends. When I dropped the Piñata album with Madlib, [2014] that was definitely a life-changing time for me,” he continued. “It was all about me defying the odds and doing something that will last forever.”
The 43-year-old maintained, “I define legacy by what you did while you were in the game. If your body of work is solid then your legacy will last forever.”

The campaign was shot ahead of the release of Alfredo 2, which continued the collaborative series between the rapper and acclaimed producer The Alchemist. The all-black set worn by the lyricist is one of Mitchell & Ness’s latest drops and is described as “reflecting on legacy, authenticity, and the role Mitchell & Ness has played in Hip-Hop’s visual identity.”
“Mitchell & Ness has long lived at the intersection of sport, style, and sound. Our latest editorial project with Freddie Gibbs celebrates that legacy—highlighting the cultural relevance of the tracksuit and the artist’s own impact on music and storytelling,” detailed a statement from the brand.
“This is a cultural portrait – one rooted in history, and built to last.”
