Congratulations to George Martin for being this weeks Citizen of the Week.
George Martin exemplifies the spirit of service that defines a true Rotarian. With more than 40 years of involvement in Rotaryincluding over two decades with the Rotary Club of Peachtree CityGeorge has championed fellowship, education, and health in our community.
One of his most impactful efforts has been the Rotary Grand Prix, a series of elementary school 5K races that has raised over $2 million in 20 years. These funds go directly back to local schools, enriching educational opportunities for countless children. The races have become a beloved tradition, drawing participation from children, parents, and grandparentscreating a shared experience that strengthens family and community bonds.
At a recent Rotary celebration, the club honored age group winners and recognized the enduring success of the Grand Prix series, which continues to thrive thanks to Georges leadership. His influence extends beyond Rotary. As a dedicated member of the Peachtree City Running Club and supporter of the annual Peachtree City Classic, George promotes healthy, active lifestyles for residents of all ages.
What truly sets George apart is his selfless dedication. Whether hes cheering on young athletes or helping fellow volunteers, he consistently uplifts those around him and inspires others to serve.
