Nigerian gospel artist Akinade Ibuoye, widely known as Gaise Baba, has set tongues wagging after boldly declaring that drinking alcohol is not a sin.
The singer made the statement during an appearance on the Blackfame Podcast, where he shared his perspective on faith, heaven, and the Christian journey.

According to the No Turning Back singer, alcohol is only a weight that can slow down a believer, but it does not determine whether someone makes heaven or not.

In his words:
I say alcohol is not a sin. Alcohol is a weight. Its not a sin. Its what can weigh you down. The Bible says, seeing now that theres a cloud of witnesses cheering us on, it gives you the metaphor of a race. Let us lay aside every sin and weight that weighs us down on this journey, on this race. You cannot run effectively carrying weight. So if it doesnt carry you to hell, it may not be a sin.
The gospel act stressed that Christians should stop living with the mindset that their only goal on earth is to make heaven, because their salvation is already secured by Christ.

I love how somethings clearly stated in the bible causes issues among believers. 1 Tim 5.23 states Paul clearly asking Timothy TO TAKE Wine for his health. So its definitely not a sin. However, the goal is to know that it can become an addiction or even create more problems for a believer which is what Gaise is simply stating.

How I wish believers understand this, believers that think its by what they do that makes them heaven. Staying from sin e.g alcohol, what it does is that it preserves your soul and it makes you feel connected easily to God, although God is always with you, but what sin does is to make you feel so far from God
