Hyundais Creta EV is playing a key role in helping the company meet fuel efficiency (CAFE) norms, even as the quarter remained challenging due to geopolitical tensions, said COO Tarun Garg.
Q1 FY26 was a tough quarter impacted by the Indo-Pak conflict, Iran-Israel war, and overall geopolitical tensions, Garg noted.
Despite that, the Creta EV is seeing steady traction with 600700 units sold monthly. It is helping cement Cretas dominance in the SUV market, Garg added.
Hyundai Motor India is banking on festive demand and a good monsoon to revive market sentiment, which remains muted due to prolonged weakness, MD Unsoo Kim said after Q1 results.
The carmaker achieved its highest-ever rural penetration of 23% in the June quarter and closed with a healthy EBITDA margin of 13.3%. It also commenced engine production at its Pune plant during the period.
Kim said Hyundai will host an investor day on 15 October to outline its near-term roadmap. We will be launching 26 products by FY30, he announced.
